Russia was the first place where a Marxist political party ever took power and began to implement Marxist policy following the October Revolution on November 7th, 1917. During the Second Congress of Soviets the Bolsheviks won enough seats alongside the Left SRs to vote in favor of an armed revolution establishing The All-Russian Central Executive Committee as the highest governing organ and the Council of People's Commissars established as the executive authority to government day to day affairs with Vladimir Lenin as its Chairman[1]
